The legal situation in Austria for sex workers!
It’s always legal to be a sex worker. Of course there are regulations in place which needs to be followed. Some of those regulations are administrative law and therefore they are in place for issues like getting registered at the local police station as sex worker and obtaining regularly health checks at a out pointed governmental organization. If you don’t follow those rules you will be punish through a fine. Like always so also in this business, there are criminal statutes in place, which apply to the serious issues like the minimum age requirement for sex workers which is 18 years. the law against forcing and exploiting sex workers through a third-party and also the the ban on organizing border crossings by sex workers through a third-party. The mentioned criminal statutes, are only and exclusively subject to 3rd parties which are organizing the sex business like clubs and other locations or escort agencies. Therefore, the sex worker which works alone can never, be subject to criminal law.
Specifically for people from other cultures like to United States, the Middle East and many other countries it might be hard to understand that the sex industry is not illegal and therefore and normal business in Austria and Germany and many other European countries.
